A Berlin tea canister decorated with a design inspired by watered taffetta or ikat fabric, with a knop in the form of an Egyptian head. Mark: sceptre in underglaze blue c.1795 Ht: 5.4", 13.8 cm This type of design was first introduced at Sèvres c.1791 and quickly spread to other factories. |
