Derby antique porcelain A Derby figure of the poet John Milton, shown standing beside a scroll with the quote from Paradis Lost:
"Into the Heav'n of Heavens
I have presum'd
An earthly guest
And drawn
Empyrial air".
He is leaning against a pedestal on whihc are depicted the figures of Adam and Eve being driven from the Garden of Eden by an avenging angel.
