Chelsea antique porcelain dish
A  Chelsea dish painted in the Kakiemon style with a ho-ho bird or oriental pheasant dispalying in front of another which sits in a flowering prunus tree above a banded hedge.
c.1752
Raised Anchor period
Ref: Agnew and Marno, The Dragon and the Quail, no. 56 where it is shown with the Japanese original.

This is very close to the Japanese inspriation, and the Chelsea decorator probably had a Japanese one to copy.

The 1755 Chelsea Sale catalogue mentions the wheatsheaf and pheasant pattern which probably describes this pattern.
