A pair of Chinese soft paste porcelain vases decorated in London, probably in the atelier of James Giles, with large bouquets of flowers and scattered sprigs and insects. Ht: 5.1", 13.2 cm c.1755-60 Exhibited and Reference: The Early James Giles and his Contemporary London Decorators, 2008, no. 63. The flowers on these vases show both Type A and Type B characteristics which are found on wares attributed to the Giles workshop. |
