A Chinese coffee cup decorated in Holland with a parrot. c.1730 H: 2.4", 6 cm Ref: H. Espir, European Decoration on Chinese Porcelain, pl. 44 and pl. 45 for a source print of parrots and a plate in a similar style. Parrots were a populat subject for decorators on Chinese porcelain. |
